For Commercial Clients
The Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act (“UIGEA”) requires us to establish procedures to ensure that our clients do not conduct transactions relating to unlawful Internet gambling. “Restricted” transactions are considered to generally include any funds transfer, credit, check, draft, or card (i.e., debit, gift, or home equity line of credit) transaction that involves a betting or wagering business which is illegal under U.S. or state law.
UIGEA also requires us to take action to prevent activities that may involve these types of restricted transactions, including closing accounts.
If you believe you are lawfully engaged in the business of betting or wagering, please contact your Johnson Bank relationship manager as soon as possible.
For Retail Clients
The Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act (“UIGEA”) requires us to establish procedures to ensure that our clients do not conduct transactions relating to unlawful Internet gambling. If you have previously engaged in Internet gambling transactions using your Johnson Bank Check Card or Home Equity Line of Credit Card, we will block these transactions beginning on December 1, 2009. |
