Life Insurance
Upon hire, full-time associates receive life insurance of 2 ½ times their annual salary; part-time associates receive a $5,000 benefit. Supplemental insurance coverage is available at group rates for associates, spouse and children.
Illness and Disability
Personal Leave: Full-time and part-time associates receive up to six (6) paid personal days per calendar year for illness or other personal reasons (pro-rated the first year).
Short-Term Disability: Full-time and part-time associates may receive disability of up to 100% of pay. Benefit is based on length of service and percent of full-time, up to a maximum of 180 days. Full-time associates may purchase supplemental short-term disability insurance. Policy can pay up to 60% of base pay, not subject to federal or state tax. Maximum benefit period is 26 weeks.
Long-Term Disability: Upon hire, full-time associates receive benefits if disabled of up to 60% of pre-disability pay after a continuous 180-day elimination period. Benefit generally continues until age 67 and is reduced by deductible income.
Vacation
Vacation benefits are based on years of service and your percent of full-time:
1st partial calendar year - 10 days pro-rated by full calendar months worked
1st - 2nd calendar year - 10 days
3 years+ - Additional days per year to maximum of 15 days
11 years+ - Additional days per year to maximum of 20 days
21 years+ - Additional days per year to maximum of 25 days
Holidays
Ten paid holidays per year are provided.
Educational Reimbursement
For university-level, job related courses (degrees), full-time associates are reimbursed up to 15 credits annually for 100% of the tuition charged by the local state university system or the equivalent dollar amount to a non-state university. Part-time associates (working 20-31 hours a week) are reimbursed for up to 6 credits as above.
Associate Assistance Program
Company provides short-term professional counseling services to assist in the prevention or resolution of personal problems affecting an associate or member of their immediate family. One initial evaluation and up to 3 visits are provided at no cost. The services are provided in close proximity to each of our facilities on a limited basis.
Health Insurance Benefits
Medical, vision and prescription drug benefits are available to full-time associates and eligible dependents on the first of the month following 30 days of employment. Part-time associates are eligible following one year of employment.
Dental Insurance Benefits
Several dental options are available depending on location. Benefits are available to full-time associates and eligible dependents on the first of the month following 30 days of employment. Part-time associates are eligible following one year of employment. A two-year commitment is required.
Reimbursement Accounts
Full-time and part-time associates are eligible to participate in a Dependent Care ($5,000 annual maximum) and/or Health Care ($5,000 annual maximum) Reimbursement Account; money is deducted from associate's payroll check before taxes and set aside to pay for dependent care expenses, or health expenses not covered by insurance. This includes certain over-the-counter medications.
Profit and Success Sharing Incentive
Profit and Success Sharing Incentives are designed to align eligible associate's compensation with the mission, vision, values and strategy of JFG. Incentive compensation earned under these programs is intended to reward performance results around JFG's financial success.
Retirement and Savings Plan — 401(k)
All associates (except on-call) may participate on the first pay date following 30 days of employment. In general, 1% to 50% of pay may be deferred, up to the legal annual limit. Participants age 50 and over that meet certain criteria may make catch-up contributions, subject to the legal annual limits. The company matches $.50 on every $1.00 of the first 6.5% you defer. There is a four-year graduated vesting schedule on company matching contributions.
Pension Plan
Participation begins after working 1,000 hours in the first 12 months of employment or in a calendar year thereafter. Participants receive an annual company contribution based on their eligible pay (include base, commissions, overtime, bonuses and Profit and Success Sharing Incentives) and length of service:
Less than 10 years of service 3%
10 years of service or more 4%
Participants are entitled to a pension benefit after five years of vested service (1,000 hours per year equals one year of vested service).
Retiree Medical Savings Account (RMSA)
Part-time and full-time associates are eligible to participate in the RMSA. The RMSA allows you to set aside money on an after-tax basis while you are actively employed to pay for health insurance premiums during your retirement.
If you contribute at least 1% of your annual base pay/commissions, JFG will provide a matching contribution of $400 a year. Your contributions, company matching contributions and related earnings are not taxed when withdrawn. Company matching are available upon retirement for associates who are at least age 55 and have 10 years of service.
Retiree Health Insurance
Associates age 55 and over with 10 years of service and 18 months of continuous health insurance coverage have access to JFG sponsored retiree health insurance until age 65. Plan includes medical and prescription drug coverage similar to that of the active associates plan. Retirees pay 100% of the cost of coverage. A post-65 Medicare supplement is also available.
Bank Services
Associate Accounts: Two personal interest-bearing checking accounts and two regular savings accounts are provided to associates without charge.
Safe Deposit Box: A small safe deposit box is provided at no charge to associates (or a credit will be applied to a large box).
Associates Loans: Associates are eligible to apply for loans through Johnson Bank at associate rates.
Johnson Family Benefits
As a company owned by the Johnson Family, we are proud to participate in certain benefits from the Johnson family of businesses.
Associates have the opportunity to shop at the S.C. Johnson Company store, which features many of S.C. Johnson products at substantial discounts and Johnson Outdoors offers associates discounts on their recreational products.
Health Club Memberships
Associates may join the health club of their choice. The Company will pay 50% of the membership fee, to a maximum of $330 per year.
Membership to Armstrong Park is available. Armstrong Park is an S.C. Johnson recreation and fitness center that offers many indoor and outdoor activities.
